I love old people...they say some of the funniest things!
The other day I'm walking out of the grocery store and I get behind this old lady as I'm walking out of the store. It's one of those akward situations where the person in front of you is walking super slow and you want to pass them but there's not really enough room to get around them without making it very clear you think they are too damn slow. So anyway, I decide to just slow it down and wait the extra 30 seconds it'll take me to get to my car. The lady starts moving slower and slower and all of a sudden stops. The whole time she was looking through one of her grocery bags for something apparently b/c when she stops she kind of pushes the bag away and says, "Shit! MotherF*cker!" my jaw dropped! Did she just say what I think she said? This little old lady needs her mouth washed out with soap!
Last night I was flipping through t.v. and stop on this show called "rollergirls". I find the show interesting b/c I've always liked skating and have always thought of myself as pretty tough, so rollerderby seems like a pretty cool thing to me. Maybe I'll start a rollerderby league here in a city that will remain anonimous, indiana. The rollerderby girls are meeting some old lady who participated in rollerderby for SEVEN generations! Holy Cow! She is their idol and they are all giving her hugs and she tells the girls to be gentle because they might make her false eye ball fall out. It was funny. This lady was also wearing the most gaudy pair of sunglasses I've ever seen. They were huge black glasses with all this gold I don't even know on top of them. She seemed like a cool old lady.
My final old lady story is about my grandma. My grandma is the coolest old lady ever. She is in her early 90's now and is still kicking ass. My grandma is so awesome, she still mows her own lawn...even in the middle of the summer! My grandma also loves playing mario brothers. I remember her playing it a little with us when we were younger. But my ma revealed to me fairly recently that when we were kids and we'd head off to school her and my g-ma would play mario bros. and dr. mario for hours! Here's the coolest thing though about my grandma... she has a Shit List! She is a hardcore democrat (loves JFK and Bill) and as she gets older she talks politics more and more, so whenever we chat I know that i'll hear knock on George W. I don't mind listening. One time I'm chatting w/her and I say "so how's it going grandma" and she says "well honey, I'm mad at president bush" and then goes on to tell me exactly why she's mad...finally she says "you know what, he's at the top of my shit list right now!" I was like "Grandma! You have a shit list!?" She just responded with her cute grandma laugh. I love my grandma!

Pizza! Pizza!
The other day I decided I wanted some pizza. Since I only had ten bucks I had only a couple options. I could get a frozen pizza or I could get Little Caesar's which sells pizzas for 5 bucks! I went with the five dollar Little Caesars pizza.
Now as kids we used to ride our bikes to 7-11 for slurpees and Little Caesars for pizza and Crazy Bread. Then they closed down all the Little Caesars where I lived...boo! So when they opened up one a few months ago it made me smile. I hadn't had their pizza in probably like 8 years or so.
I think little Caesars has changed who they market to. They have this new thing where they always have pizza's available for only five dollars. Cheap pizzas= cheap customers. I'll admit at times I am a cheap customer...really who isn't?
Anyway, the other day as I'm standing in line getting my pizza there is this guy in front of me in dirty clothes and a general disheveled appearance. In front of him is a woman. He is trying to make small talk with this woman who seems quite disinterested. He continues to talk to her and finally realizes that the woman just wants to get her pizza and leave. Anyway, I guess he wasn't in line and was just up there talking to her b/c as he realizes she doesn't want to talk, he says to her "Alright I'm just gonna sit back down and stare at your ass some more" I. WAS. SHOCKED! Did I really just hear this sleaze tell a complete stranger he was gonna sit down and think about her ass and who knows what else!? The woman was caught off guard by his comment and did one of those nervous laughs. If it was me he said that to, my reaction would have NOT been that.

Arrested Development
I am probably one of the 37 people in America who watch Arrested Development. That's sad because the other 294,000,000 people in America are really, really missing out! This is the best show on television, period! However, it's not going to be around much longer. Fox has cut the # of episodes in half and basically has cancelled the show. There are lots of rumors floating aroudn that maybe abc or some cable network would pick it up. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess. So why's this show so good? Here's some reasons why i LOVE it:
1. Jason Bateman -- HE IS A BABE! (and very funny)
2. Ron Howard -- he's the executive producer. How can anything that invovles him not be good?!
3 this show is not like all those other "comedies" on tv. e.g. Yes, Dear; hope and faith etc. with stupid laugh tracks.
4. the rest of the cast- Jessica Walter, Jeffery Tambor, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, David Cross, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat...they are all awesome!
5. All the great guest stars they've had -- Henry Winkler, Liza Minnelli, Clint
Howard, Ben Stiller, Carl Weathers, Jane Lynch, Julia-Louis Dreyfus, Amy
Poehler, Judy Greer, Zach Braff, Charlize Theron, Scott Baio...any many more!
I could go on forever, but I won't. This show is too good for it to disappear. So lets hope we get someone to wisen up and save this show!!
Watch the few remaining episodes! Go buy season 1 and 2 on DVD!
Save the Bluths!

R.I.P. Ipod :(
My Ipod, my best friend at times, is gone! Some A-hole stole it.... GRRR. This happened probably about three weeks ago and I'm just now able to think about it w/out getting completely worked up. My ipod was stolen from my glove compartment when I took my car in to get it serviced. Yes, it was not the best thing on my part to leave it in there......I forgot I had it in there though! Plus, I guess I am a trusting person in that I didn't even think to check my glove compartment because why would someone who is changing my oil look in my glove compartment. Well, aparently some people do look in glove compartments. GRRRR.
Since I lost it everytime I see an ipod commercial I cringe. I don't know what to do. I don't want to buy a new one but I want one. We'll see. Maybe I'll buy myself a new one with my tax return in the spring. Last spring I bought a kick-ass digital camera w/my tax return. I'll could start an anual tradition of buying some really expensive piece of technology with my money I get back from taxes.

Go back to the North Pole Dasher and Dancer!
So the other night I'm driving along. It's about 10 pm and I'm driving down this stretch of road that is in a some what woodsy area. On this stretch of road there is a deer crossing sign posted. I have to say I've seen those signs often enough on roads but never have really seen deer crossing the road. Anyway, I see this sign and sure enough 2.7 seconds later I see a flippin deer walking across the road. There's a car coming towards me in the other lane so I can't swerve to avoid it. I SLAM my brakes on instead. My anti-lock breaks kick in and I seriously think I was inches away from hitting it. Everyting in my car goes flying forward (including me). The entire contents of my pursue spilled everywhere. This experience was really, really scary! My body had all these reactions!
Flash forward 2 days...I'm driving again around 5 in the morning. Same stretch of road and there's another deer just chilling in the road. But this time I was prepared. I was taking precaution and driving under the speed limit, scanning for deer. This time I just had to come to a stop and beep my horn at the deer to get out of the road. It still scared me though.
So I tell my dad about these two instances and he tells me that deer hunting season is starting next week. "Aha" i say, "that explains why I saw these deer and 6 dead deer on the side of the road driving down here today". I'm a little dissapointed in myself that I didn't know deer hunting season starts any day now. I mean, I watch the outdoor network like everyday. I don't even like hunting or fishing but something about that channel draws me in, I'll admit it. (Maybe If i had cable I'd watch something other than QVC and the Outdoor Network). I've learned a thing or two about hunting and fishing (and the Jack Lelane Juicer but that's from watching QVC).
The only deer I want to see this season is Rudolph, when the 1964 Christmas classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is on tv!

Country Music is Cool
It only took me 23 and a half years to come to this conclusion. I really like country music now! In fact the last two cd's I've purchased have both been country CD's. I never used to like the sound of country music. I know it's become more popish over the years so maybe that's why I like it now because I LOVE pop music...who knows. There are some HOT country rockers too... my fav is Billy Currington.
So the good news I said I'd write more about later...I got promoted and have my own store now! It's an awesome store and I'm so looking forward to everything we're gonna do there!
Couple of shoutouts:
Yay for Hillary turning 21 recently!
Yay for my BFF being a soccer-super star and her team kicking ass this season!

Saturday, Sunday, and Today
The past three days have been really good so let me share a little... I was in WLaf this past Saturday for Abby and Brian's wedding. It was such a good time. Abby looked so beautiful in her kick ass dress. I really liked it...especially the back of her dress. I got to see so many good people at the wedding...Lexie, Hill, Kelly, Jen, Adam, Ross and Rebecca, Heather, Kim and Colin....even some of the regular customers from my old store. Lexie, Kelly Hill and I spent a good portion of the reception on the dance floor. It was fun...I have very little to no rhythm but everyone kept saying how we were gonna dance the night away so I was all for....apparently only the four of us were...we basically had the dance floor to ourselves all night! People did come and go but we were the constants. Another highlight of the evening was the Chocolate fountain! It was this huge fountain gushing all this chocolate and you got to go up to it and dip strawberries, marshmellows cookies and other goodies into it. YUM! So I had a great time seeing everyone and being there to help celebrate!
Sunday was a nice day. I slept in, took my time getting up and then went to lunch w/Lexie. We went to Moe's. Everytime I'm back now we seem to make at least one trip there. It's so good. After that I drove back here. Towards the end of my drive I hit one of the worst thunderstorms I've ever driven in. It was hailing and pouring rain. Peope were driving to slow and pulling over on the side of the road till it let up. Anyway, I made it through the storm just fine. I made it back just in time for a coffee seminar two girls in my store were having. It was really fun and the turnout was way more than we expected and they did a great job!
So that brings us to today. It was dang hot out today for it being the begining of october and VERY humid. I didn't realize it got this humid in october. Today was a really good day I'll write more about it later.
Peace
