It's been almost a year since I have written last. I've decided to review my life the past year and also what I'm hoping/planning for this year.
2007
Work
So this past year overall I've been pretty succesful in my job. Probably the most exciting thing was leaving 24 hours and resuming normal business hours. Let's just say it saved me from having a nervous breakdown at age 25! After that things have been (mostly) smooth sailing. There are always the ups and downs, but I've come to realize that and know it's just a nature of the business. My peers are awesome. We know we are there for and support each other 100%. My boss and I have established a very good, respectful working relationship. My company has had a little rougher of a year than they have had, but I still love it.
Friends
I have definitely established some really strong friendships this last year. I of course still have my best friends Kelly, Suzanne, Kate and Alexa. We all live in different areas so we don't see each other nearly as often but I guess that's part of everyone growing up and doing their own things! As for my friends here I have a group of 3 friends who are great. We did some fun things, like going to nearly every fair/festival/ thing in the area. We learned disc golf together which we all really, really enjoy. We've had fun just getting together and laughing. We helped michele w/painting her new house and then had many bbq's there! It was lots of fun times with them!
Love...or I guess I should say like
So for those of you who don't know...? I joined match.com this year. After turning 25 I was like hmm I need to find more ways to meet guys! So i decided on match.com as one way. I met two guys from it this past year that I enjoyed time with, however...no love..so just like!
Me
I lost 30 pounds this year! I can't even believe that I had 30 lbs. to loose but I did and I'm proud of myself. I did it through better eating and more physical activity...go me! I own my car now...no more car payments. I started looking in to purchasing a house or townhouse/condo at the same time debating if this place is where I want to be or not. I discovered disc golf through by brother and love it. I was asked to be the maid of honor in one of my best friend's wedding in June '08. I went to my family reunion with my mom this past summer and saw a lot of family I hadn't seen in a long time which was great. ohhh and I turned 25...quarter of a century!
Here's what I'm hoping for in 2008...
I've decided that I'll probably be here for at least another year. I'm still undecided about the house thing so I think I'm putting that on hold in some ways. I still want to talk to someone and learn more about purchasing a home for the first time, so I plan on doing that. Professionally, I plan on taking myself and my store to the next level. I have the right people in place so we'll see what we can do. I'm taking on a new approach to dating. I plan on really dating...so rather than settling in to something I want to go out w/multiple guys and then if I find myself becoming more interested in one then seeing them exclusively. Through match.com and my friend who is now planning on introducing me to all her single guy friends maybe I can find my true love! I plan on continuing to get myself more fit. I am looking in to types of exercise programs/gyms for the cold months and can't wait to get outside once it gets warmer out.
well I think that's about it for my first blog in a long time...more to come soon.

Cosmic Bowling!
The other day I went bowling and had the good fortune of getting to cosmic bowl for the price of regular bowling...how awesome! We went on Sunday and there were like five birthday parties booked so they just made the whole bowling alley cosmic bowling for the parties. I have actually never been cosmic bowling. It is kinda cool. The lighting is all black lights and there are lights that run up the lanes and from time to time they have a fog machine that really only covers about two lanes w/fog. My eyes needed about five minutes to adjust to the darkness having just come in from the blinding white snow outside, which made me think that I needed my pirate eye patch. On Mythbusters the other night I learned that pirates wore the eye patch to keep one eye acclimated to the dark so they could see in the dark of night...I always thought it was to cover up mangled eyeballs.
Anyway, bowling was fun. We played two games and some how both my team and the other team ended up w/ a score of 624. So we bowled one more frame and my team...team LaTina won!
Peace!

I'm still here
I've been away from blogger for a while and I come back to find that I now use it through google...? Anyway, I haven't been in some remote jungle of the world these last 5 plus months, I've just not had much interest to blog I guess...but I've had a change of heart and decided it's time to venture back to blogger.
I am listening to this song called "here (in your arms)" by hellogoodbye and it is a really fun song. check it out!

I got busted
Yesterday I was out to eat at this good deli place. Anyway, I got up to use the bathroom. It had a been a long day and I was hungry and tired and apparently zipping my pants wasn't something I felt necessary to do as I exited that bathroom w/my capri's unzipped (but buttoned). I got a couple of steps out and realize oopsy my pants are unzipped! So no one is around and I figure I'll just keep walking and zip. However, I turn the corner and there is this man who totally sees me do it. So I stop mid-zip look down then think "F*ck it" and zip them up the rest of the way. Of course I have to walk right past him and he totally busts me and gives me this knowing grin. I was totally embarrassed! The guy looked like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite but with a mullet! That made me feel a little less embarrassed that I was busted by a man w/a mullet in 2006.

Peaches!
I'm going to Costa Rica in January! My sister, dad, and myself have always talked about how someday in life we'd like to go. Turns out though I'm not going w/either of them though...but my mommy will be there! I've never traveled outside of the country before : / Not even to canada and I used to live like 45 minutes from Canada. Thus, I need a passport. So I got all my stuff together and went down to the post office today for them to tell me that I had to go to the post office down town. So downtown I went. The passport office is this small tiny room.
I walked in and took a seat. The two passport employees were talking w/a woman who purchased something from Lativia and apparently she never recieved it. It was some gold brouche and they told her they bet she was scammed...yikes! (not quite sure she was in the passport office for this)
Anyway, once they figured all that out they called me over. I lay out my two pictures, driver's license, Birth Certificate and application. My birth certificate looks like you printed it up in microsoft works...so not very official looking. Of course the woman stares at it and asks where it's from and I tell her I printed it up off my computer right before I got here. Actually no, I tell her it is from California and that's just how it is so deal! As I'm writing my checks to pay the phone rings and she answers w/her post office greeting and says her name is Peaches! I chuckled a little in my head. The only person by the name of Peaches I've ever heard of is the singer.
Anyway, that was my trip to apply for my passport...Costa Rica here I come!

Happy Birthday!
Both myself and my blog have turned a year older since I've last posted! My blog is now a year plus a couple months old and I am 24 years old...holla! Everyone has been asking me, "so how does it feel being 24?" My response is something like this. Well hmmm, When I turned 21 it was like a rite of passage... I am legal in ALL ways now! When I turned 22 I felt like I kind of took on this slight arrogance. When I was 21 I went to the campus bars and ordered some froo froo mixed drink or a lite beer. When I turned 22 I went to martini night and sat at a table and had conversations about "real" things. But I still could party with the best of them at the college bars(for example when my sister turned 21). When I turend 23 I felt really separated from the college scene, but I still had friends in college and was up for college stuff every so often...I was still in my young 20's!
NOW, however i'm 24. I'm in my MID -TWENTIES! I have a full time job and feel pretty accomplished. So 24 definitely feels different. it just feels like I've moved into a completely new place in life.
When I would have this convo. with people who are significantly older than me they'd just get this grin on their face that said "oh please!"
Anyway next year is 25! I think 25 should call for a big celebration...so to anyone who reads this...be prepared for a big birthday bash!
Peace

Old ladies are cool
I love old people...they say some of the funniest things!
The other day I'm walking out of the grocery store and I get behind this old lady as I'm walking out of the store. It's one of those akward situations where the person in front of you is walking super slow and you want to pass them but there's not really enough room to get around them without making it very clear you think they are too damn slow. So anyway, I decide to just slow it down and wait the extra 30 seconds it'll take me to get to my car. The lady starts moving slower and slower and all of a sudden stops. The whole time she was looking through one of her grocery bags for something apparently b/c when she stops she kind of pushes the bag away and says, "Shit! MotherF*cker!" my jaw dropped! Did she just say what I think she said? This little old lady needs her mouth washed out with soap!
Last night I was flipping through t.v. and stop on this show called "rollergirls". I find the show interesting b/c I've always liked skating and have always thought of myself as pretty tough, so rollerderby seems like a pretty cool thing to me. Maybe I'll start a rollerderby league here in a city that will remain anonimous, indiana. The rollerderby girls are meeting some old lady who participated in rollerderby for SEVEN generations! Holy Cow! She is their idol and they are all giving her hugs and she tells the girls to be gentle because they might make her false eye ball fall out. It was funny. This lady was also wearing the most gaudy pair of sunglasses I've ever seen. They were huge black glasses with all this gold I don't even know on top of them. She seemed like a cool old lady.
My final old lady story is about my grandma. My grandma is the coolest old lady ever. She is in her early 90's now and is still kicking ass. My grandma is so awesome, she still mows her own lawn...even in the middle of the summer! My grandma also loves playing mario brothers. I remember her playing it a little with us when we were younger. But my ma revealed to me fairly recently that when we were kids and we'd head off to school her and my g-ma would play mario bros. and dr. mario for hours! Here's the coolest thing though about my grandma... she has a Shit List! She is a hardcore democrat (loves JFK and Bill) and as she gets older she talks politics more and more, so whenever we chat I know that i'll hear knock on George W. I don't mind listening. One time I'm chatting w/her and I say "so how's it going grandma" and she says "well honey, I'm mad at president bush" and then goes on to tell me exactly why she's mad...finally she says "you know what, he's at the top of my shit list right now!" I was like "Grandma! You have a shit list!?" She just responded with her cute grandma laugh. I love my grandma!
